We are kind of done at this point. Dumb citizens cannot hold a republic. It is pretty simple. Freedom requires intelligent citizen engagement. Without it we cannot have anything like democracy. If you think half the nation is stupid(almost half voted for Trump), then only some authoritarian rule can succeed, sadly. You cannot talk about coming together and going forward while calling half the nation idiots
