Somebody always wants your waterhole

Most Americans accept without question the founding principles of the United States are ones of rugged individualism. Possibly this is the reason taking care of each other has not been as ardently embraced by a similar number of Americans. There is a common, but erroneous suspicion it is socialist to care about each other through collective action in government. That somehow caring for each other violates the principles of rugged individualism.

In truth, America took off as a global superpower once we really started taking care of the less fortunate in our society. The United States has a complex relationship…

Laker was an angel who looked like a hound from Hell!

If a loving God was to send down an ambassador would not the form of the dog be useful? A dog is literally an “angel” incarnate. Dogs are so immediately trusted by humans, they are brought into the home without a second thought. There at our feet, the dog can teach us so much about compassion, understanding, love and loyalty.

Perhaps it is why dog is god spelled backward. Somehow we suspect this connection…at least we English-speakers. We all understand if we were as good a person as our dogs think we are, the world would be a much better…

The GameStop drama points to a new world and not just the investing world. Hedge funds have taken losses which may be in the billions by being targeted by an army of stimulus checks on Reddit. Derivatives are really just very complicated algorithms that make predictions about how money will move based upon various factors. We all know the most chaotic factor to calculate is human behavior.

Asimov postulates a new science called psychohistory in the Foundation series. The name psychohistory is a misnomer because it is predictive analytics and chaos theory applied to humanity, but psychohistory is the name…

Doggie Coin

Well first things, first, it is not Doggie Coin. That is just its mascot/logo. The cryptocurrency is actually named dogecoin. What is that? How do you actually pronounce this cryptocurrency’s name? Well I got you covered.

Are your friends telling you dogecoin is a joke. Are they telling you dogecoin is being hyped and it will never be worth anything? It is being hyped there is no question of that, but there is also a value proposition. Yes there really is a value proposition for dogecoin.

Well now, you are saying I wish I had listened and bought some dogecoin…

Through the years there has often been great tension between science and religion. One famous example is when Galileo is seeing the sun at the center of the solar system, this knowledge is suppressed by the church. However, to treat science as a religion is foolish too. To pursue rationalism to the point of declaring atheism and/or secular humanism as the only “real” religions is misguided.

Atheism claims to KNOW something about spirituality and the afterlife. I don’t think any one of us KNOW. We can only speculate. Atheists sound an awful lot like an evangelical Christian or fundamentalist Muslim…

The cryptocurrency universe is crazy…literally. Overnight there can be enormous moves in value, up AND down. It is why the term HODL caught on. A typo of HOLD became the acronym for Hold On for Dear Life. Anyone holding Bitcoin over the last few years has ridden a roller coaster from below $1000.00 to nearly $20,000.00 followed by a crash to something like $3000.00 only to be breaking $50,000.00 peak in 2021.

The aforementioned is a small slice of what cryptocurrency investors go through trying to make and hold gains in the space. There is a lot of work and…

I have been watching this Aussie Facebook fight with interest. I thought Google’s cooperation was a little surprising. Facebook’s response seemed far more typical. I wanted to know if this was an Australia issue or a truly global issue. I tried to post the below link and got the above message.

Facebook bans Australian news: World reacts with outrage as users, publishers blocked

This is GLOBAL issue and this is a BIG BIG problem for Americans in general and me specifically. I use foreign news sources far more than I use American news sources. …
